Jamie Foster Brown is the long time entertainment insider in all entertainment communities. Brown began this road to the big time publisher as a mid west woman. Foster's past involves her being educated in Europe, founding a theater group , working at BET(Black Entertainment Television) and then publishing Sister 2 Sister and a syndicated radio voice for entertainment.
Sister 2 Sister became the in road for new people in the big lights and stars and the others that needed a new life. For example ,if you were new in the entertainment business and no one would give your press in the African American community on a national scale. Brown was the person you went to . She would some how work you in her magazine to get your face in peoples brains. If you were once a mainstream African American folk hero or just plain fell off, Brown was your comeback lady but, times have changed.
In a recent issue of Sister 2 Sister , the legendary Foster Brown explained to her readers about the missed April issue.
"We did the double issue to combat some unexpected trouble in the Magazine Industry."
To make along story short, the was a problem with the wholesaler. Foster Brown also left the following message for her paid subscribers.
"If you have an ongoing subscription, don't worry, you will still get 12 issues of your favorite Magazine".
Sister 2 Sister has recently upgraded their website , but like so many African American historical established publishing powerhouses, they still should do more. For example, there is no black TMZ. Alot of the tradition black prints are just no catching onto the internet thing but, they are not providing update content on a daily basis. If you are in the entertainment part of the publishing industry, the news from a entertainers is a dime a million. Sister 2 Sister may have to up is internet game along with other traditional African American publications if they don't want any whole sale problems down the road again.
