Ben's Chill Bowl is a 50 year operation in the District of Columbia. The small business was started by Ben and Virginia Ali. This couple's restaurant is best known for it's chili dogs, half-smokes, and milkshakes . Recently, the sons of owners of the restaurant organized a big gala to honor the restaurant, employees and the parents. A few national names showed up at the event such as Bill Cosby, Cathy Hughes, Roberta Flack and Marion Berry along with others. The community and the city came to support Ben's Chili Bowl in various ways. The national syndicated morning show Russ Parr Morning Show did a live broadcast on one day and, there was a big block party doing most of the day. There is a free concert setup at the world famous 9:30 club which is also added to show support and appreciation for Ben's chili Bowl. There are a few pictures below that captured the event as far as the red carpet and the block party.
