Howard University had the only daily published newspaper at a historical black college. Reports are starting to surface that the paper owed the Washington Times 48,000 dollars. The student newspaper used the Times as it's printer. Although the student editor, whose name is Drew Costley, claims 20,000 is missing from the account of the paper, various members of the Howard University's newspaper board shut the paper down with an alleged illegal vote.

Other statements are coming forward that the minutes from various meetings have been changed. The change statements help support the shutting down of the newspaper. Costley has made various statements to support this rumor. With all the donations and support Howard University receives, people have asked how did this happen to them. For now, the official Howard University news publication is the Howard University's internet website.
