Stephen A Smith demoted and later fired

Stephen A Smith was a columnist at the Philadelphia Inquirer. Although Smith column was canceled, he was later put in reporter status. Once in report status, Smith took a leave of absence with out pay. Smith currently still has his side gig at ESPN. Smith allegedly was fired for job abandonment according to William Marimow the editor at the Inquirer.
Smith feels that his good name is hurt. He has hired William Gary to defend his position on the matter and ,Smith has called the local union about the issues. Although some say Smith is a loud mouth and has very strong opinions, Smith feels he was setup and embarrassed. Smith provide the following quote to Richard Prince.
“What they have done to me is malicious, intentional and vindictive. They want to ruin my reputation and all of the hard work that I have done over the years. “
“I have never abandoned a job in my whole life. I wasn't raised that way. The Inquirer forced me out and smeared my name and credibility. “
Some people are talking about Smith and making statements that his big mouth got him in trouble.
