Richard Parsons is planning to step down as CEO of Time Warner but, he is still on the board of the larger then life corporation. If you look at this Brooklyn native, you may find an interesting past. Parsons, who obtained a basketball scholarship from the University of Hawaii and later obtaining a law degree from Albany Law School. As we look at Parsons and his Rockefeller connection, you will noticed a life of history of Parson and the Rockefeller family and , how he became the family muscle.
If we look at history, the king of any land is not the smartest or most talented. He remains the king as long as he keeps the money following , the merchants happy and the people calm. The king has to surround himself with people he can mildly trust and know them well after years of proving themselves to the king.
Many people don't know that Parson owns property on the Rockefeller land. Although Parson's father was a groundskeepers for the Rockefeller, this did not give Parson a leg up in the world of the rich and powerful. Parson proved himself to the family in another ways before he took over marjor operations for them.
One can assume the first was his long family history with the Rockefeller family. The other was as follows. He was an political aid at one point to the family while one member was Vice President. He was legal counsel to a widow of the family. He ran one of the banks which he obtain a large amount of money once the bank was dissolved. After all this , Parson finally became powerful. He got Time Warner the head board seat and CEO. A lot of minorities have two work to jobs to prove themselves at times.
In conclusion, although the line is shorter on the republican side for minorities, you still may need long powerful family connections to move up in the world of power.
