The Black Luv Fest is an annual event in the city of the District of Columbia. The event focuses on HIV testing , information to the Black community, and live entertainment. The Black Luv Fest is a grass roots annual event filled with volunteers and vendors. The independent artist community provides the entertainment to the event for free. Every year someone is honored from the African American community rich history.
This year Elaine Brown , Grand Wizard Theodore and Roxanne were honored. Brown is best known as civil right activist from the sixties, a prison activist , song writer ,ex Leader of the Black Panther Party, and a woman that has overcome many problems in her personal life. Grand Wizard Theordore is best known for inviting the scratch in the world Hip Hop. Although Roxanne did not show, She is best know for roll in the history of Hip Hop as one of the great female "MCs".
