Radio One was founded by Cathy Hughes and is currently run by her son. This is one of the largest African American majority operated commercial group of radio stations in the country. Every summer Radio One organizes an event called Stone Soul Picnic. This event is presented to various communities across the United States every year.
In the Washington DC area, Stone Soul Picnic has existed for over 10 years to date and, Radio One has been the organizer of the event. In 2009, Streetroachpics.com was able to obtain a few photos of people in the DMV radio one family and the event itself.
